​​Freya Kazemi is an Iranian-Canadian self-taught painter living in California. Born in Tehran, she graduated in General Painting Fine Arts and managed her own gallery, supporting emerging artists. Initially focused on realism with pencil colors and pastels, her style evolved into abstract expressionism, characterized by bold textures and colors applied with her fingers. Freya's art is inspired by ancient Persian art, miniatures, Farsi poetry, and recently the Quran and her cellphone's apps ​, using copper and gold sheet collages to reflect her heritage. The pandemic marked a transformative period, leading to her masterpiece "Resurrection," created on her apartment's walls and floor. Since 2021, her works have embodied spiritual themes, blending the mundane and spiritual worlds, inviting viewers to explore deeper meanings. Freya's journey continues to inspire and transcend traditional artistic boundaries.
